UFO sighting in Jason's Fishcam?

No, that's not an alien pod in my aquarium. A friend gave me a couple lilly bulbs for my fish tank. So mark your calendars everyone, they're supposed to sprout in 20 days. My friend also gave me an automatic fish feeder. The plan is to add a button to this fish cam page and allow visitors to feed my fish. Don't hold your breath waiting for that though. I'm about six projects deep at the moments.

  • I don't remember the blue fish. It is beautiful. How boring that all I have to do on a Sat. night is look at fish tanks.

  • I am re "booting" my fish tank for my 6 month old daughter who LOVES fish. I see that you have a beta..does he live with the rest of the fish in your tank and do they all get along?
BTW - how's Gainesville? I grew up there but now live in Kansas City, MO.

  • I'm on Betta #3 currently. Betta #1 lived for a long time with the other fish quite piecefully until my algea-eater decided to start nibbling on him. That Betta lost a few scales and died. Betta #2 did not get along with any of my other fish since his introduction and I ended up putting him in his own tank. Betta#3 (much like my first Betta) is living in harmony with my other fish again. My only advice is not to put a Betta in with fish that are bigger than it is. I don't think they like the competition.

  • cool site... please DO NOT ADD THE "FEED FISH" BUTTON!!! that's a very BAD IDEA! if you do, then every person who visits the site will feed your fish and that's a very BAD thing. there will be too much food for the fish to eat and it will deteriorate and the nitrogen cycle will cause lots of nitrate accumulation. nitrates are naturally in the water because of the nitrogen cycle, but when there's that much it kills some fish, inflames the gills of the rest, and accumulates as rust colored mineral buildup that's hard to clean off. trust me, i have had bad experiences with nitrate buildup in my 55 gallon tank.

  • you could hook up a tube that goes from your tank to another tank with live brine shrimp in it. then put a valve in the tube that opens when a button on the site is pressed, and people on your site can just feed the fish a few brine shrimp at a time. fish go insane over live food. that would be really cool.
